The pacers shirts are awaiting bodies to collect them!

It’s almost upon us and we know a lot of you out there are gearing yourself up for the experience. We are getting a number of queries. We have an FAQ page which answers a number of those. In addition other ones are to do with:

1)      Not receiving any communications about the race or entry

a.       The vast majority of these issues are caused by either our communications going to your junk mail, or we have an invalid/wrong email address for . Contact us using the form on our contact page. And together we’ll sort it out.

2)      Not receiving my number

a.       Fun Run numbers are not sent. They are to be picked up from the Fun Run Desk at the Rugby Club before 9:45am. Please note for entries on the day this is a cash only transaction [£5].

b.       The 10k and Half Marathon numbers were all posted out on August 31st.  Some of the numbers have been returned by Royal Mail as ‘Gone Away’ – we’ve managed to contact most of these entrants and post their numbers to their new addresses. A few of them haven’t replied so far so these unclaimed numbers will be at the Help and Information Desk for pick up. It is most likely these occurred because of changes of address since 2020.

3)      Numbers and Pick Up information.

a.       10k and Half marathon -If you are picking your number – please do it early as we have already about 180 numbers for pick up. They can be picked up from the help and Information Desk at the Rugby Club.

b.       Fun Run numbers You collect on day from the Fun Run Desk at The Rugby Club

4)      Entry availability

a.       Fun run – is open and you can enter on the day. Go to the Fun Run Desk.

b.       10k and Half Marathon – entries close at midnight Saturday 11th September. You will have to pick up your number. See Numbers

5)      Bag drop

a.       Our bag drop is open from around  7:30. It is in the Rugby Club clubhouse. We have a limited storage area. Items are left at your own risk and we do not accept any liability.

6)      Parking.

a.       Most details and maps are in our digital brochure.

b.       The Rugby Club has 100 spaces and these tend to fill up very quickly.

c.       Waters car park is approached when coming off the M56, or from Altrincham, before you get to Wilmslow. It has 400 spaces and is 12-15 minutes’ walk from the Rugby Club. Quite handy for a quick escape after the race.

d.       Spring Street Car Park is a multi-storey on Waters Lane. It has nearly 300 spaces.

e.       Hoopers in Town has 130 spaces.  Also, in town towards the Leisure centre there is Broadway Meadows which has 270 spaces.

f.        Closer to the Rugby Club there are several streets where you can park your car. Please be considerate for our neighbours. No blocking cars or driveways in. No parking on the pavement. Take notice of parking restrictions which may apply and of our marshals who will be manning the local streets.

7)      Pacers. Currently

a.        In Orange: Half Marathon: 1:15; 1:20; 1:25; 1:30; 1:35; 1:40; 1:45; 1:50; 2:00 and 2:15

b.       In Yellow: 10K:  35mins, 40 and 45 – we might have more. If so we will put a note up at the Information Desk

8)      Running with dog and/or pram,

a.       So as not to scare young children it is only possible to run with prams on the Fun Run if accompanying children. You must take care running with regards to the other children

9)      Road closure timings

a.       Our road closures licence operates 08:00 to 14:00. Roads are normally opened earlier when all runners have cleared that part of the course to facilitate the movement of local traffic. The road closure time does not allow for walkers to compete in the race and we will not be able to keep you safe from traffic. Our sweep vehicle follows our runners. Runners who fall behind the sweep vehicle are reminded to keep to the pavements and be aware of traffic.

10)   Run Cut Off time

a.       Whilst we don’t want to exclude people who want to complete a half marathon – but may not be able to run the whole distance. Our expectations are that runners should finish in under 3 hours. Our last runner vehicle gives a warning if they are having to go ahead of the last runner. They will advise you to stay on the pavements and to stay aware of traffic etc. You can request to be picked up if needed!

b.       For 10k we envisage all will finish this race before the last half marathon runner.

11)   Closing date to Transfer

a.       Transfers can be arranged through TDL. These must be done by Midnight Thursday 9th September. The transfer numbers must be picked up from the help desk. The desk will normally close 9:30 for transfers

12)   Can I run it virtually?

a.       Unfortunately we are unable to offer this capability. You can pick up your goody bag at Running Bear with your number.

13)   Can I defer?

a.       We are sorry, if you are unable to run your race. , as per the terms and conditions of our races, all entry fees are non-refundable. We are a registered charity with all surplus being donated in line with our charitable objectives
