TRAINING PLANS
10K and Half Marathon Training Plans
Entering a race brings that feeling of excitement along with a few nerves, and it’s totally natural! For some, it’s your very first race, or perhaps it’s a new distance for you? We know training for a race can be a daunting experience and you’ll be asking yourself, are you doing it right? Often enough? Far enough?
Having your own training programme makes a huge difference, and that’s why we delighted to provide you with both 10k and Half Marathon training plans, completely free of charge courtesy of the experts at JM Coaching. They explain all the training needed and cover three levels so you can pick which one suits your needs best.
Training plans have been created by Jonny Mellor of JM Coaching Jonny is a two time winner of the Wilmslow Half Marathon, recently clocking 62:05 to win the 2023 race, a qualifying time for the World Half Marathon Championships, were Jonny was selected to represent Great Britain. Having also won the half marathon in 2022 as part of his preparation for the Manchester Marathon, Jonny has a personal best of 61:59 for the half marathon and 2:10:03 for the marathon.
Jonny set up JM Coaching in 2013 as a way to support his own athletics career, which has continued to grow over the years. Now a team of six coaches, these plans have been carefully created to help you prepare for the Wilmslow Half Marathon or 10km. Using experience gained from years of racing across the world, working some amazing coaches and training with some of the fastest runners around, you’ll be in good hands! The training plans help offer structure to your training to ensure you can enjoy your day with us.
