Sad News about our old stalwart and Race Director: Maurice Minns

Maurice Minns was the Race Director of the Wilmslow Half Marathon for over 30 years.

Sadly he passed away on the 21st October 2021.

Over the years Maurice developed the race to become one of the UK’s leading half marathons which attracted elite runners such as Eamon Martin who went on to win the London Marathon.

The event has raised over a million pounds, for charities, local community projects and runners charities, and stands as a fitting testament to Maurice’s vision and hard work.

Details of a new trophy in his honour will be announced shortly.
