WRF 2022 Charities
To date we have raised over £1 Million for charities.
With only two more weekends after this to go we thought we’d tell you a bit about our charities for 2022.
Our Charities this year are:
· Francis House
o Francis House supports approximately 2,000 people at any one time with respite care, homecare, sibling support, end of life care and emotional and bereavement support.
o From their site in Didsbury, Francis House is a lifeline to more than 500 families from across Greater Manchester including Stockport, Oldham, Bury, Rochdale, Manchester, Salford and Trafford.
o They provide high levels of clinical care to the families of children and young adults with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
o Children, young people and family members are welcomed into a friendly, home from home environment. The support we offer includes physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual care from a dedicated multi-disciplinary care team. Telephone Support is available 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
· Booth Centre
o The Booth Centre is a community centre run with people affected by homelessness.
o Based in Manchester It provides a warm welcome, an opportunity to belong, to gain a purpose and rebuild lives. Their programme includes activities such as volunteering, creative projects and sports, as well as training and help to gain employment. We also support people to improve health and wellbeing, to access emergency accommodation, and to secure and maintain a permanent home. The Centre is run in partnership with the people who attend and they apply their skills and experience to influence strategic change.
· Supportability
o Makes life better for people with disabilities. Formerly known as Stockport CP Society; it has since 1953 been it has been supporting children, young people and adults with a wide range of physical and learning disabilities. Our aim is to enable them to live as fulfilled and independent lives as possible.
· Mind Manchester
o Manchester Mind has been supporting better mental health for just over 30 years. It is part of Mind in Greater Manchester. A partnership of five local Minds working together to ensure people experience better mental health. Supporting people with their mental health to live well and feel valued in their communities and at work. It aims to support everyone to develop their potential by empowering individuals. We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. A Self-Care Hub has recently been launched where people can access lots of tips and resources to support their own wellbeing
